Creative Indoor Walking Workout

It is cold outside. For a lot of places, winter weather is in full swing. If the weather is stopping you from taking your daily walk, keep reading. Check out these tips for doing a creative indoor walking workout!

Eventually you will be able to walk outside. However, if you are currently trying to figure out how to take more steps while stuck indoors, these tips should help.

Treadmill

Treadmills can be boring, but they don’t have to be! I actually enjoy using a treadmill to walk on an incline. It is like hiking without the rocks. If treadmill workouts bore you, try some of these Self-approved routines. If you’re still bored, watch your favorite television show or talk to a friend while you walk! The entertainment will help pass the time.

Indoor Track

If you don’t have a treadmill or access to a gym with one, find an indoor track. Many colleges have indoor tracks that are open to the public when not being used by the school sports teams. You can listen to an audio book or podcast while you walk in circles.

Walk & Talk

No treadmill or track? Call someone you can talk to for a long time. Then, pace around your house while you chat. I have gotten lots of steps in my small apartment while talking to my mom.

Shopping

The mall and the grocery store are also good places to go to rack in the steps. Window shop or buy a thing or two… just make sure you walk by everything!
