Smoothies are great… and for years I have been experimenting with different recipes to find the best tasting ones for every mood and occasion. Now I have narrowed down theses recipes to the very best! All of these smoothies are great for the morning, post-workout, or an afternoon snack.
You can’t really go wrong when making a smoothie, but there are ways to make your drinks healthier and more substantial. Many people just blend up frozen fruit and juice in their blender and call it a day. Those are healthy and all, but they won’t stick with you long. All of the recipes I am sharing today have plenty of protein, healthy carbs, fiber, and fat. They are also very simple to make.
Note that the images below are of a normal sized mason jar, and the recipe provided made as much smoothie as you see in the photo. If you try any of these smoothies, tag me on Instagram @itsmollyrae — I would love to see them!
Tropical Green Smoothie
This smoothie is my favorite for days where I need to get some extra greens! Stuff as much spinach into your blender as you can and top off the smoothie with some delicious tropical flavors! If you aren’t a fan of green smoothies… don’t worry this one tastes amazing! You will start your day off right with this one >>
1 medium banana
4 cups spinach (Several handfuls)
1 cup frozen mango
1 cup frozen pineapple
1 cup coconut water
PB&J Protein Smoothie
Peanut butter is one of my addictions. And as a plant-based eater, it has some great protein for me! However, eating too much peanut butter means you are also eating a lot of fat. Fat is not a bad thing, but I do not like eating it in excess. I have found the perfect peanut butter substitute in this smoothie. Protein Plus Peanut Flour is super high in protein, but low in both fat and carbohydrates! Add some fruit to the blender and you have the perfect post-workout drink >>
1 medium banana
1 cupe frozen strawberries
1/4 cup Protein Plus Peanut Flour
1 cup unsweetened almond milk
Acai Super Smoothie
This smoothie is perfect for those days that you are feeling under the weather or low on energy. All of these ingredients will help promote a healthy immune system. The antioxidants in the berries, the potassium in the banana, the extra protein and fat boost in the chia seeds, and of course the superfood powers of Acai will help kick your body into gear >>
2 cups mixed berries
1/2 medium banana
1/3 cup goji berries
1 tbsp chia seeds
1 1/2 tsp Acai Powder
1 cup water
