Improve Your Health In 5-Minutes

I understand that life is busy sometimes. But it is still important to make time for yourself and your health. Luckily for you, I have a lot of quick health tips on this blog! Every week I create short and effective workout videos that you can do from home. Those videos should save you some time on your fitness. I also like to share my diet advice and give you time-saving meal prep tips. Today, I want to go over more than just your diet and exercise routine. I am going to help you improve your health in 5-minutes.

Each of the below activities take 5-minutes or less to complete. Try adding them to your daily routine to help improve your mental and physical health.

Spring Clean

Vacuum, dust, and clean your closet one section at a time. Removing the clutter from your home can help improve your mental health. Cleaning is a great way to reduce stress. Shifting your focus from your anxieties to your dirty home for a few minutes a day can help you feel motivated, productive and less anxious.

Dance Party

Put on one of your favorite songs and having a quick dance party in your bedroom. We all used to do this as children, and I don’t know why we ever stopped. A quick cardio burst is good for the heart and your soul. Check out one of my Spotify playlists for some dance party inspiration.

Do A Puzzle

Train your mind with a simple puzzle. Number and word puzzles, like Sudoku and crosswords, can help relieve stress and anxiety. Doing a puzzle a day can also help improve your memory, which is especially important for adults. Try doing one puzzle a day. You may enjoy it! Also, try to do your daily puzzle off of your phone. Get yourself a puzzle book and take your eyes off of that blue light for a bit!

Meditate

Meditation is great for your mental health. Your mental health can impact almost all areas of your life from your digestion to your mood to how you sleep. I encourage you to find a meditation routine that fits your needs. This routine can be as simple as taking a minute to inhale and exhale deeply. You could listen to a guided meditation using one of the many meditation apps. Alternatively, you can go for a hike, play a sport, journal, read a poem, or lie down on your back and close your eyes. The options are endless. Just find something that gets you out of your head and connected to your body and soul.

Protect Your Skin

Wear sunscreen everyday to keep your skin healthy, glowing, and protected from potentially harmful UV rays. Check out this article by the American Academy of Dermatology for specific advice on what sunscreen to wear and how often to apply it.
